March 19th, 2018Toy Story Land to Open June 30The all-new Toy Story Land at Walt Disney World Resort, inspired by Disney•Pixar’s Toy Story films, will open June 30, 2018. Guests in Toy Story Land – located at Disney’s Hollywood Studios – will feel like they have shrunk to the size of a toy as Woody, Jessie, Buzz, Slinky Dog, the Aliens, Green Army Men and other fun-loving Toy Story characters come to life in the larger-than-life outdoor setting of Andy’s backyard.
Toy Story Land will also celebrate what once defined entertainment for a generation. Crayons, Rubik’s Cubes, Cooties, Green Army Men and other toys and games will pour on the nostalgia for park-goers. Even the lampposts will be shaped like Tinkertoys. Woody’s Lunch Box will serve up meals and old-fashioned soda floats from a walk-up window in a setting surrounded by Andy’s favorite toys and a giant vintage thermos. Attractions include: Slinky Dog Dash – Andy has assembled his roller coaster kit for maximum family fun. Tracks and supports in bright colors of red, orange, yellow and blue are put together according to Andy’s hand-drawn plans, with Rex and Jessie lending a hand. And to complete his creation, Andy picked up everyone’s favorite floppy-eared dachshund with a strrrrretch-ing slinky coil belly and dropped it on to the coaster track. Alien Swirling Saucers – This galactic space toy is designed as a play set that Andy won at the Pizza Planet restaurant. Toy Story green Aliens swirl about in their flying saucers with guests in tow in their rocket-ship toys, while “The Claw” hangs overhead. This space adventure is bathed in music reimagined for intergalactic fun, dappled with multi-color lighting and sound effects from throughout galaxies. Toy Story Mania! – This attraction gets an all-new colorful toy carnival game box entrance when the new land opens. In fact, this is the box that the Toy Story Mania! game came in. Recently updated with a third track, the popular attraction will put even more guests in the carnival playset action taking aim at 3D objects – using everything from baseballs to cream pies. Walt Disney World will begin charging resort guests for overnight parking beginning next week. The company has officially announced the change today after months of speculation. Effective for reservations made March 21, 2018 and thereafter, standard overnight self-parking is available to registered Guests for a fee that will be applied to their hotel folio upon check-out. All parking fees include applicable tax.
Standard Overnight Parking charges per Resort Category:
Valet Parking is still available at select Disney Deluxe Resorts and Disney Deluxe Villas but will see an increase to $33 per night (sales tax included). Disney Vacation Club members will not be charged for standard overnight self-parking when staying at a DVC Deluxe Villa, regardless of whether they use vacation points or another form of payment. Members also will not be charged to park when using vacation points to stay at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel. For day guests complimentary standard self-parking is still available while enjoying select dining, shopping, entertainment, and recreation experiences at Disney Resort hotels. Egg-stravaganza, the egg-themed scavenger hunt returns to the Disneyland Resort on March 16th, with eggs hidden in Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure and Downtown Disney. Guests can pick up a map with stickers at select merchandise locations for $5.99, then search for hidden eggs and mark the map with the stickers. When they’re done hunting for eggs, whether they find them or not, guests can return the map to a redemption location for a special surprise. In Disneyland Park, return the map to the Disney Showcase shop, in California Adventure, visit Elias & Co., and in Downtown Disney head to World of Disney. Egg-stravaganza continues through April 1st. |
